States That Don’t Allow Pitbulls

The very controversial issue of whether or not Pitbulls should be allowed in certain neighborhoods or cities continues on. We just want this to be an informative page on whether or not the city you’re in or going to has laws on whether or not you can own a Pitbull.

Though some parts of states may allow Pitbulls, there are 10 states that have cities or counties that maintain Breed Specific Legislation (BSL) laws. Those states are as follows:

  • Kentucky
  • Michigan
  • Rhode Island
  • Massachusetts
  • Maryland
  • Colorado
  • Florida
  • Washington
  • Iowa (entire state)
  • Ohio (entire state)

It’s always better to be safe rather than sorry if you have concerns about breed specific legislation. To learn more, visit the wikipedia page about BSL.
